This would be a branch of magic revolving around pets. Different brown gems would effect pets in some way. Some would increase pets healing, damage, crit potential, or others could allow the pet to give passives to the owner such as a percentage of the pets armor or health. Perhaps some brown magic could effect movement, think of the pet clearing the path in front of you in order to speed up travel from town to town.

That would make dcing even easier...start with such aura and thanks to its 10sec duration buff and deft spam, dc life would be even easier, so...nope.

Let's make dd magic more... colourful with some new auras for the underused flavours.

The idea behind these gems is to allow for builds that sacrifice the straight DPS and mre based mana management of red (and green if staff user) DD gems for utility or alternative, hybrid effects. In the case of 'disruption' the idea is to make leveling as a caster before cap somewhat more sufferable as life choice.

Needing both mana and energy means sacrifing a lot of stats and needing to keep auras in play hurts deft recovery and makes dd casters much more vulnerable to shattering. Additionally, the loss of DPS from red gems means some fairly exciting or unusual effects should be available for balancing.

Halo
White LvL 75
Epic

Angelic aura but does not reduce white or grey DD damage

Prism
Grey lvl 75 legendary
Your grey direct damage gems have a 10% chance to mez,stun, or daze


Miasma
Black lvl 100
Legendary
Your opponent is forsaken for 10% of your black direct damage over 60 seconds. (Behaves like a Dot for rupture etc)

Disruption
Blue rank 1-5 (levels 20-100)
Epic
Your blue direct damage gems will vamp 10 mana/energy + 2.5 per rank
10% more blue and grey direct damage max damage when in play

To be clear, I'm not suggesting these auras as a DD buff, instead they should present different possibilities that aren't currently available.

Spraying spells is one of the more engaging ways to play nod but it's a horrible experience pre-cap due to deft recovery driving most of the dps, and how hard mana/stat management is without great skills. The blue aura aims to help with this.

Red Dcdd or red/green staff dd does great in pve and people have done well with that in PvP too. It's the other colours that present an opportunity for a bunch of variety in other builds, either as supplimentation for non strictly casting builds or entity different types of debuffing casters we don't currently have.
