I imagine the answer to that will be no to go along with not selling anything from Nodiatis for real money. More than likely, for the same stated reasons against character sharing on Rwk.
From the RWK Announcements page
Quote:
We will not be actively seeking out and punishing those who break this rule, but if you auction that you are selling a character, or e-mail us complaining that your clicker stole your character or that you were scammed in a character transaction you will be banned for failing to follow the rules. These rules are for your protection.
|
I imagine it'll be something along those lines. People may not be actively sought after for it, but there won't be any sympathy if you openly break the rules or complain if you get scammed on the Nodiatis end... though Rwk has never had rules against it for other games where it's not supposed to be allowed, so it's beyond me who may or may not get banned there.
Some clarification on this from Jeff would be nice, though.

I doubt this would be a problem given the rules context.

mike you need to update this due to the fact that recent events have proven that there are forum rules that we dont know about

I am wondering why civil is so lax with sex and cussing but so strict on religion and politics. If we say something about it, people like Malkaia just get worse to prove they can. If people want to be uncivil, they can do so either in PM or Uncivil. I have a screen shot to report, but do not know where to send it. I agree with Frenchula. Nod is the kind of game I might let my teen play, but I hesitate because while I might tell her to keep Civil turned off, I doubt she would. Curiousity and all that. But when people seem to think they can say anything in Civil, and then do so with impunity, well, there goes one less player. I also agree with ThatPerson. You can't punish someone for a rule that isn't published. So change the rules first if you want to punish someone for an infraction. I think the real cause here though isn't necessarily the rules themselves, but someone who abuses the authority they've been given. I don't want to be a moderator on the forum, too much time. But I'd offer to be a mod on Civil. I don't play favorites. I'd equally squelch everyone Seriously though, we need -good- Mods on Civil. I turn Civil off most of the time because it's not any different than Uncivil.

Glitchless will never give moderation powers to anyone from the playerbase, as they've stated before.
They'd rather hire college kids

And how's that worked out for them? I've been Admin of 2 MUDs primarily for more than 13 years (I was a wizard on 25 or so over the years, sometimes serious, sometimes just to help solve a coding issue), but these 2 MUDs are still both around, and though empty now for the most part, Glitch is more than welcome to log on and review our own rules, guidelines, and my posts to determine my reliability in such matters. But if they want to keep on the same path with inexperienced young kids who don't know how to keep themselves apart...their choice. I'll just keep Civil turned off.
EDIT: And for those who don't know anything about MUDs, their strength is in getting good admins FROM the playerbase.

I have tried over and over again to ask people to keep it civil. I have a 5 yr old daughter who I am proud to say has won awards for her reading ability. She loves to sit next to me and watch me play, and to help with mining rocks. Unfortunately, she also likes to read. I keep it on civil so she can practice. Too often, even though I have censored words checked, a lot of stuff still gets through. There is an uncivil channel for people who want to talk that way. or there are PM's. Civil was set up to be just that, civil. Do you really need everything spelled out to know that some things are definitely not civil? Read the terms of use, and people seem to miss the third rule... 3. Don't be annoying or a jerk to other players or moderators.
All I have asked is to keep civil civil. If that upsets you, then I'm sorry, but some of us do not want our children seeing this sort of behavior in civil.

We have mods online at most hours, but they are instructed to only squelch those who are undeniably breaking rules on purpose. You've seen what drama queens people can be when our forum mod, Nikita, actually has to infract someone for breaking the forum rules and it is not as if she then receives overwhelming support from the people who are happy to see the rules enforced. We'll never be able to please everyone.
That being said, if you send in screenshots of offensive things said in civil with your mouse cursor over the face of the person who said it so we can ID them then we will consider taking more permanent action and banning them from civil permanently. Send to abuse@nodiatis.com

I was about to apologize & pledge to mend my ways... but instead i'll tell you to keep your kid off the net & give her some Tolkien or Dahl to read.
Sorry french but you're deluded if you think any chat room will be safe for your daughter.
..& i dont think it's unfortunate that she likes to read - if my kid liked to fish i wouldn't take him/her to a cesspit would i?
Wat possible benefit could she get from mining rocks? that's slavery - i dont even support child labor, so i wont buy your ingots or ore's or any resource your kid farms.

#3 of Nodiatis Game Rules has been revised. It has always been the case that it was not allowed to game bash in uncivil but this rule was not always strictly enforced. Please respect these rules as they are written so we can enjoy a healthier player base and spend more time on game additions as opposed to moderation.
