Defoliate, exhaustion, mind numbing

Do these gems work in PvE? If so, how long does it (roughly) take till the mob is out of mana/energy and, in your opinion, are these gems worth their high mana/energy cost for characters that don't wield a staff (assuming that enough points are put into cnc and mst)?

As far as I am aware,mobs have infinite mana/energy ...they can never run out.

Mobs do run out of Mana/Energy. I wouldn't use thes eon long drawn out fights unless you have a **** load of energy or mana. Defoliate you don't need to cast, it automatically works on the person/creature you selected.

idk about the others, I haven't used them.
