v2.228 Spectating
The browser client now supports spectating other players. The downloadable PC client will support it very soon.
You can spectate anyone in your current zone. Spectating will show whether or not the person is in combat, and will show the details of their combat as if through there eyes. You purposefully cannot see the energy and mana levels of the player and their allies, since this is not information that is even available to their foes, however, most other things are visible. During the arena countdown, your knowledge will also be limited similar to how much an enemy would see.
Players will be able to detect if someone is spectating them, based on the new epic skill Vigilance: This skill determines how quickly you are able to realize that you are being spectated and how likely you are to be able to determine who is doing so. You will visually be able to tell when you are being spectated by a graphic that will appear. If you mouseover the graphic, you may be able to tell the name of one of your spectators. Without the skill it may take up to 10 seconds to know you are being spectated.
We are working on a feature which will allow players to teleport to arena to view matches and the end-of-season tournaments.
