Arena Rating Changes
The current no-loss arena rating system was originally implemented for the 3v3 solo queue arena with the intent of making losses caused by your teammates less painful. In this current season, this modified rating system appears to be causing more grief than good. We are now going to be testing a more traditional rating system.
There will be no hidden rating. What you see is your exact rating. Previous hidden ratings have been completely discarded. Your public rating will remain the same as it was before. The following changes have been made:
Rating decay has been reduced from 2% per day to .5% per day. It will return to 2% decay per day during rush week. Decay will occur regardless of participation.
Rating gain/loss will be determined solely by the comparison of your rating to your enemy's rating.
The net effect of this really should not hurt or help anyone based on their play style or play time. It should merely make the rating system more transparent.
