Question about Trophies, Pilgrim, and BGT

Do higher level mobs give more trophies because they are higher level or because they are higher level than us?

By that I mean would a player get fewer trophies for being level 86 rather than 85, even if the creature is black in both cases?

The BGT (and MC) skills say that they increase with creature level, but what about the base trophies before BGT?

I didn't want to know the formula, I just wanted to know if leveling to 86 would cause me to get reduced trophies in Redwood (compared to 85).

if you double half the number of trops you get on average i think you'll ed up the a number you can trust.

Or if your adventurous you could half double the number of trophies you get.
but that's more complicated i think.

either way its not as many as i used to get........ (nostalgia inst what it used to be yanno)
