Split Shaft Aura Pet Question

Dear Glitchluff,

When using Split Shaft Aura for the pet aspect, does the attack either:

1. hit the tank, parry/block calculated, then if the hit connects the damage is spread.

2. hit is diverted to the untargeted enemies, parry/block calculated, then the hit connects and it is either a 48% or 52% damage reduction, depending on the gem/target.

I assume it is the first option, but a few others think it might be the second.

It's not like AoE gems. It produces separate ranged and pet attacks for each target. Option 2.

So basically, it is a steady DPS Gem variant of the Soul Devourer......

Seems as if it would overshine the random chance of Soul Devourer target attacks, but whatever. Upkeep really isn't an issue with recovery strength anymore.....

Soul Devourer doesn't take up a gem slot, nor can it be shattered.
