I don't post very often in these forums, but after reading an article a second ago, I felt like this was something worth posting.
In these times, I think sometimes, we all as gamers sometimes forget that there are people behind the words and avatars on our screens. And that sometimes it takes alot for us to remember that. So with that said here's a link to an article that I think all gamers should take a moment to read.
a lot of people don't remember him, and I won't say names, but nearly 2 years ago an old nod player died. In a time when most of nod hated me (can't blame them obviously) he always had my back. He would talk to me every day and I had a permanent invitation to Quest any time I wanted it. Never once did I see an unkind word coming from him and he never refused a plea for help. Nod lost one of our greatest players in December 2010 and I remember well the grief we all felt at his passing. I think most of us never really think about losing friends online but I really do think people on tight-knit games like this one feel the pain greater than anyone and I never forget that an online friendship can be just as close as any relationship irl.
