Default New skill

Riposte - Every point in this skill gives you a .5% chance to reflect 20% damage that you parry. At level 100 you will reflect the parried damage back half the time.

This would be a level 60 protection skill.

Examples
You parry an attack, you receive no damage and neither does the mob
You parry an attack, you receive no damage but the mob receives 50 damage (original attack would have been 250)
You fail to parry an attack and receive 250 damage

Thoughts? Ideas? Improvements?

suggested many times before, including at least 2 times when I re-suggested it, but I'll support it.

For slow effects, use the slow % but as a negative.

Just repeat for multiple effects.

DO NOT multiply by 1+slow% to get your new delay. 1*1.4 is not the same as 1/0.6 and your answer will be wrong.

33% or 25% when maxed? And by mirror you mean its like they attack themselves?

mirror is where they do damage to you but also do an identicle strike back at themselves 25% would prolly work well imo

but then wouldn't that negate the parry?

a flat out reflection would be OP unless it was like 10% chance to happen on a successful parry

Chances to parry are already very high and there is even an option to pick a 2nd class with more % to parry and not to mention the opness of shield users when they dont use a whip (dual parry).

I would recommend it to make it towards Kite.

At the very most you can parry 49% (unless my maths are wrong) and 25% of that you will reflect the damage so in reality it is only 12.25% to parry AND reflect. That does not account for random luck or lack there of

Should be called "Counter"

And should deal a percent of your max DMG back if successfully parried.. Perhaps 20% or so at max. No Vengeance etc applied either.. Just regular skills, just 1 strike like a bloodlet.

now that sounds good, jada.
but counters usually do far more dmg than a usual hit. see boxing. counters are pretty deadly there. combines movement of the opponent towards you and your fist towards his face. ouch.
so 20% is kinda..unreal..

edit: hmm..counter attempts fail sometimes tho..and then the dmg is on you..
i may relate skills too much to real situations..nvm^^

But the chance of this messing up the entire PvP/PvE idea are rather large.. and the 20% I said was the chance of it happening at a max skill.

It would be a single blow (two in DW cases) just not have the benefits of Vengeance and/or Deathblow..

question
should the reflect be affected by their ac or be based off of yours since it was originally intended for you

I like this idea but didn't glitchless just implement a big patch designed solely to mostly prevent the use of reflecting skills/gems? This idea would undo that

If you are referring to the skill Self Reflection, that only cuts that damage dealt back to yourself by 50% so even with this skill they can still hit for 10% max when it is reflected which is still a sizable amount considering how often parries can be done

"These changes are intended to make boss killing easier for people using what we would consider more legit tactics - that is actually dealing the damage vs. the creatures rather than relying on the super high damaging creatures killing themselves with reflective or devampiric damage."

Massive patch designed 100% to reduce the usefulness of reflective damage. I like the idea but it would completely defeat the purpose of that patch
