Default Framerate Again

I logged in today and framerate was slow right off the bat. Not horribly slow, but noticably choppy. Others seem to be having the same problem. I'm using v0.660

661 might fix it. Expect it to be choppy for a second when people talk since it's loading their image.

661

Noticably less choppy, but like Decker said, some slight chop when messages float in battle.

I get 200 fps using 30% of my comp when the game is idleing. Could this be capped to at 102 fps to save cycles? I mean.. I think most would have a 60 Hz monitor like me so 140 frames are just going no where but on wasted cycles like me. I say 102 fps for anyone that might be running a 100Hz monitor (lucky bastards =P)

It won't add any performance values for me but just take up less of my comp while playing.

The game caps itself at 20fps when you move your mouse off the interface screen. It may not work for alt tabbing though.

Yeah and that's nifty, and no I don't think it works for alt-tabving, but I only *need* an extra 40fps to get me at 60fps and my monitor can't refresh any faster so I won't notice any more frames after that. It would possibily make the game smoother on older systems if they are playing it right now and it's going above 60fps. They could use the extra cycles to listen to music or something?

If I play this on my nephews 2.7 Ghz machine the poor thing is maxed out at 100% while playing =) And I have not tried it for a week and half so I don't know if the other improvements would help multiple windows there but I simpliy could not do it at the time.

This is just another way to make multiple windows easier. Most of the players won't notice anything over 60fps.. although they *will* notice it if you tell them even though their monitors are maxed out refreshing before and now =)

oh! Could you add a command for a version to change the cap?

/fpscap 100

or something so I can move it down from the current 200 and I'll let you know how it goes? It can't hurt =)
