Equilibrium Gem working?

Default Equilibrium Gem working?
I threw one of the new equilibrium gems into play and just sat there not casting looking at wether or not it was actually trasnfering mana or energy back and forth and it didn't seem to. Maybe I just wasn't noticing it?

If there is not a big enough differential between your energy and mana then it does nothing.
