Default Perk for casters

how about a skill that allows casters another gem battle slot. make it a lvl forty or sixty skill, and every twenty to twenty five lvls, they get another gem battle slot. right now, with having five auras in play (gem haste, aura of reflection, aura of thorns, flare up and aura of lucidity) makes it hard to funnel all useful gems that come though into one spot.

and at level 50 and 100 you get an extra draw slot BUT this skills is only for staff users

well maybe that 7th slot is limited to only a few types of gems (an aura, eternal mana/energy). That way it's not too much advantage towards other classes, but it's still very useful for a caster.

and i really like the 2nd draw slot idea.

afraid though this requires lots of work to code ..

First, I agree with 2nd and 3rd draw slots from some new skill or currently underused skill.

Secondly, I disagree with having additional battle/play slots.

Weighting the importance of saving 1 slot for "useable" gems or using that slot for aura/continuous gems, is part of the game strategy.

I don't see it as an advantage to simply increase slots as new aura gems show up just to allow for cookie cutter solo builds - grabbing pretty much all needed auras for a certain function - as it removes challenge - in turn, interest - in the game.

Having to choose, is a plus.

However, as more and more gem slots show up, you start drawing gems you might not always need right away.
Or you might draw them too fast for your own good, due to Replay, cantrips, and enough Draw Haste, as well as Mesmerize and Stun effects that make you - intentionally - likely to lose a draw or more.

In that aspect, having additional Draw Slots can be crucial to safeguard the value of strategy over pure spam.

But just as a buffer.
Not drawing 2 or 3 gems at a time, respectively, but instead having breathing room for high draw frequency situations.
