Default Lag Spikes S1 Logged

We've noticed some recent .5-1.5 second lag spikes on the S1 server (lag in this case meaning the server's response to a client request was delayed and the server was at fault, as opposed to the usual case where a delay is the fault of some overloaded router in between them). The cause is due to server hardware limitations, and we are currently looking into solutions both in optimizing the server database and in hardware upgrades if necessary.

We are currently testing a solution to this issue which involves changing the way our cloud backup works so that it should not impact server performance as much. Player data files are still duplicated on a local hard drive and remote cloud in such a way that even in the event that the datacenter was lost in a tsunami, players would only suffer a 10 minute rollback.

It looks like the lag spike issues may have been solved, but we will continue to monitor the situation as always.
