Default Sneak Peek at Upcoming Arena Changes

Good friends are hard to come by, and good friends that you can trust in the arena, will show up at the same time as you, and will put in the same blood sweat and tears are even rarer. Many would-be arena greats are stricken by this ailment, or a general dislike of people, and have been able to take their rightful place in the history books. And let's face it, there can only be one true hero of Nodiatis. When saved, the princess is not to be shared.

With this in mind, we are planning a new type of arena season. Whereas the previous seasons have involved careful synergistic planning and specific underhanded plots to unseat rival teams, this season will be pure chaos. The general format will remain: 3 versus 3, in a battle to the death, but this will ultimately be a competition to see what single hero or heroine is truly the greatest asset to a PvP team. This is because there will be no pre-made teams. Players will queue up individually and be randomly assigned teammates before each and every battle.

We have no doubt that the insanity of this upcoming season will cause many an eye to water, and possibly some heads to explode, but at the end of it there will be one true champion. Perhaps it will be a shield-carrying warrior or a necromancer in dark robes. Maybe a tamer of beasts, or even a master of life magic. But whoever it is shall gain eternal glory, as the first ever true solo champion of Nodiatis.

Technical Details (Nothing here is set in stone)

-The exact starting date of the arena season has not yet been set as we may need some extra time to fully implement and test these changes.

-Probably the only weighting that will go into the matchmaking system is a method of making it less likely to be on the team with the same person multiple times. Other than that, anyone can end up on your team or as your foe. Sometimes you will get crappy teammates and lose even though you are the cat's pajamas, but over the course of thousands of fights the randomness will play less of a factor, and how well you do as a teammate will be revealed.

-Our intention is to make it as difficult as possible for players to tell who they are fighting against and who they are teamed with. We do not want weaker players to feel like they have to worry about being spat on and always singled out and blamed for losses, so we want identities to be secret. This will make countdown strategizing nearly impossible, which is also intended, and players will truly be tested on their adaptability and general power.

We are looking forward to a very exciting arena season on both servers, and we hope that the players enjoy this new system. We are likely to alternate between arena systems in the future, possibly weighting whichever system is more popular for a 2:1 rotation.
