Glitch does not want you to boss farm. He never wanted you to boss farm. He added a chance for up to 4x (iirc) gold from bosses to make up for the fact that random encounters would previously screw you over, taking about 2x longer than a mob with no extra gold.
If you want to get gold, farm mobs. If you want to feed your lizard brain with the occasional high gold rush, farm bosses.
