Contest - Java on Android

Right now I'm using an Android phone and running Nod using Teamviewer. The lag is unbearable so I'm looking for a way to directly emulate Java. The person who can come up with a solution that will benefit not just me, but other Android users in playing Nod on-the-go will receive a tc from me.


Prize increase: one tc if you find an existing legal technology, 10 tcs minimum if you develop one yourself, and then I'll pester Glitchless until he endorses it himself. Prize will go up significantly based on how user friendly and efficient the app is, up to 100 tcs.

while oracle and google are in a lawsuit over a platform to allow this i don't think anyone could do so legally...unless you used this

build your own....i think more than 1 tc should be rewarded and i would imagine if someone is able to create this glitch would also be very grateful....or he should since it would expand his market significantly

Kudos for you trying to make nod more cool.. And more kudos for paying out of your pocket... However for some, the time spent making such a thing i could probly farm 100 tcs. If i was to sell all resources and drops

umm idk anything about this but did some research and i gess my input is:

did you try Cloud Browser maybe?

otherwise this is all i keep finding like mentioned above..
One solution may to be to remote control a desktop pc capable of running the java website. There are many RDP and VNC apps on the android market

there is no full Java JRE enviroment for the any of the android phones. While it is true that android os framework itself is a Java derivative it is far from being a full Java implementation by any accepted standard. (hence the whole oracle vs google lawsuit) I find it doubtful that there will be a full java JRE applet implementation in a browser on an android os anytime in the near future as the idea of google+oracle working together seems impossible. Beyond the technical difficulties involved with implementing such of a code port the legal problems between google and oracle make the licensing of the code for use on the phones virtually impossible.

An older version of the java app on the HTC 3000 (year:2005) and on the Samsung Omnia (year:2009) worked perfectly for me , when I get a newer model I could not find that exact version anymore, mailed with Java they say it is still there (year:2011) So looking aroung and downloading several version and trying them might be worth it.

I just bought a laptop for other reasons but I was too lazy to check them all up

I also find it a pain to turn on a laptop when you could use a tablet... but there is no solution atm.

It would be nice if there would be a nod version for Android or IOs.

Yes. There's a browser for it through itunes. The only browser i found for android was a $30 one which i'm not willing to buy if i can't try it first.

maybe just torrent the browser? iptorrents would prolly have atleast a few diff. ones for android capable of using java

which browser is it?

cloud browsers do not work due to lag... and too expensive.

Tablet Acer Iconia Tab W500 working with Windows home premium. That tablet using java like any other comp but i don't see it how is working yet.

this should enable java on your phone if it has it, i think. Only works for samsung

#5282837# Java Version not all versions will have complete compatibility but seeing how some of the older models run restricted and are able to load nod i would think most of the newer ones would as well

If you could run me through how to enable it I would appreciate it. I enabled java in my browser and it still won't load nod.

aaronkelley won one tc for providing the name of an app that works pretty well. However, it costs $19.99 so the contest will remain open for anyone who can provide a free way of doing it. I want to benefit every nodder, whether he's willing to pay cash for the app or not.
