T1 resource with compass and hero mode

I've found that it is possible to find tier 1 resources in North Lake Halcyon while farming in hero mode with the compass. I had a level 85 alt cut wood for the first time, and each time the result was tier 1 wood. I had accumulated 12 T1 wood by the time I achieved Woodcutting skill 1, and after that only tier 3 wood. I never got T1 wood again, and never T2 at all.

So it seems that if your resourcing skill is 0 you don't get the bonus from the compass or hero mode. Is this supposed to happen?

you only get the +1 or +2 to tiers if the skill allows it. kind of odd that you didn't get t2 but thats randomness for ya

no that is normal , you need a skill of 1 at least, had the same problem
