Default Dragon Tamer BP vs Crit mod Lgd'rys

So, it is a well known fact that the DT BP gives a chance for DD'ers to quad-cast b/c of its double-attack proc. I am pretty sure you (Glitchless) said this was the intended effect... or I may be dreaming.

Anyways, If the proc acts upon skills (sleight of hand), becoming 2 occurances of double attacking instead of adds to their total %, I am wondering why my % crit procs do not give me a crit of a crit instead of just adding to my total critting %....

Both procs are worded the exact same way:
"... and have an extra 9% chance of double attacking with DD gems."
vs.
"When equipped this item provides a 6.5% extra chance of a crit with all attacks...."

If DT bp gives a double of a double, why no crit of a crit?... If my pieces were functioning in this fashion I should have seen easy 5k DB hits w/o weighted... best so far ive seen is 2.9 and some change....

I am wondering why the 2 different effects/applications of the same wordings?????

That's actually a nice way to put it.
I actually think it should work this way because of the possible abuse (crit chance items are commonplace. This means you could get a crit-crit-crit-crit-crit. I.e: MUCH too high)
What I'd like to make it count is have each piece add the same percentage it has to crit damage.
Still noticeable, still a "double dip" bonus people are used to with the dragontamer.

It's all the same overall dps. Would you rather have crits more often or a 1 in 1000 chance for an awesome crit?

its not same overall DPS... having multiple instances increases DPS rather than just grouping the %'s into 1 instance.

it would be separate instances so i would think the damage range could vary

rogue would have a 50%+ chance for an crit to begin by using a 2h and top it off with

(estimates depending on gear this scenario with 2 lg legs providing crit chance. Also granted DA and CS are maxed)

Two- handed with an overall 50% chance to crit so the 2h skill isn't quite maxed

crits due to gear provide a 10% chance
5/100= 5% will provide an intial crit and gear crit to stack
and 10/1000= 1% will be double attack crits with gear to stack on both attacks

dw users such as myself

10% chance for gear to cause its own crit
25/1000=2.5% chance for an crit chance to stack
5/1000=.5% chance for double attack double crit to stack on both

math may be way off here so feel free to correct...had a couple tatis and whiskey has never given me a clear head
