That's good feedback which coincides with our logs. We are able to track these types of lag spikes, and although we have not completely fixed it, there has only been one such spike in the past 2.5 hours which was 4.15 seconds in duration. Obviously, we do not think that any such spikes are acceptable, and we will be doing more tests to completely eradicate the issue tonight.
Edit:
Just had a 3.2 sec lag spike. We're reloading shortly.

You could easily play without noticing any of these spikes, but when the server hangs for 4 seconds, it doesn't matter what browser you use.

It's not fully fixed, but we still have some more things to try.

Just had some more spikes around 22:20
We're disabling a local backup process (still have offsite backup running) to see if that fixes the problem. Otherwise we may need to disable a player logging feature that we had planned to roll out on New Years as that will be the only real culprit left.

You can't log people. We are not trees.

Had no spikes during the time with the local backup off. We're going to be doing tests modifying the local backup now until we get it to work without file I/O lockouts. Don't be alarmed if you get lag spikes today while we're doing more tests.

If you're timing out completely that's something different, 99% likely on your end. For the past few hours there's only been one blip, a 185ms lag spike that would likely go unnoticed by all but the most anal.

It's too early to say definitively, but it looks like our most recent reload has fixed the issue with disk I/O causing lag spikes. By moving game assets to another hard drive, we were able to isolate them from the unavoidable heavy writes made by our offsite backup software. We'll continue to monitor for spikes and make more changes if necessary, however.

Arena seems to be lagging for me... I keep hitting pure regens with my pets/whips, but their HP stays full?
Please look into this, this is a game changing issue !!
